Don’t know if y’all have a cat like this, but we’ve got one that’ll love on ya like you’re made of catnip, then two seconds later bite ya like you said somethin’ bout his momma. Soon as he’s drawn blood, he gives you the sweetest eyes and wants you to pick him back up. Really. So I do.

I never was a cat person… till I was. Then there was one, then three, and now a gaggle’s come through here and we love ’em all. Each one’s different. Each one’s got a personality. And to turn a phrase from The Shack, I’m “especially fond” of every last one.
Today was a crazy day at the office. One call after the next. Databases data’n, spreadsheets spreadin’, keyboards keyin’. Eyes crossin’. I needed a break, so I took one. And what to my wonderin’ eyes should appear but three of my cats tryin’ to break my neck in the most lovin’ way possible. Stretched out. All wantin’ attention. Couldn’t give a flip about my databases or my queries. For five minutes it was exactly what I needed.

It helped. A lot. Almost as much as when I see somethin’ on the book of face, or a text comes in from somebody who needs the most precious thing in the world.
Money, you say?
Ha. Far more valuable.
Prayer.
When the call comes in for prayer warriors to activate, that’s God lettin’ all of us surround somebody in Christian love. He can move mountains by Himself. True. He still wants us in it with our friends.

When we stop and pray for somebody, it helps them—and it strengthens our connection with Him. And here’s a hint: there is absolutely no rule that says you can’t stop in the middle of your day and just say “Hi” to the greatest Guy in the universe.

Just sayin’.

How often do you go to Him in prayer? Will you do it now—more often?
