What did we ever do before folks had 27 ways to contact us before the rooster crowed? Really.
I remember when my mom would give us a buck at 8 o’clock in the mornin’ and have us walk the mile or so off the hill to the city pool—and threaten to rip off an arm and beat us over the head with it if we came home before the lights came on at dark, unless there was an emergency. That wasn’t child neglect. That was a summer day in the early ’80s.

Our moms didn’t know where we were 24/7. The world was a bit different. If somethin’ happened, folks still knew how to get ahold of the people who mattered.

By the time OG Lil’ Bit came along, cell phones were in every parent’s hand. Not great at pictures yet. Real good at keepin’ track of phone calls.
Heck, now—does anyone even use them for calls anymore? Lemme look it up. With a little help from my AI buddy, I can tell ya.
All this newfangled tech has made the world crazier, and scarier. It’s also a time we can reach folks and spread the Word faster than we ever could. The Chosen started as an app on a phone and millions found it. Praise God.

Here’s the hint: usin’ technology isn’t new. It’s been happenin’ forever. Christ used the tech He had—the earth itself—so one of His most powerful sermons could be heard by as many as possible. He went up on a mountainside and preached the Sermon on the Mount. More folks heard Him there than they would have on flat ground.
Same job. Different hillside. Sometimes it’s a mountain. Sometimes it’s an email thread.

Just a thought from a guy tryin’ to use as much of this new tech as he can to do what his Savior asked of him all those years ago on that mountainside.
