No, no, no … I’m not goin’ anywhere. The CE halls of Westminster will still be just as full of zaniness as they always are. That’s not what this is about. It’s about the Church Triumphant … the Church of New Jerusalem.
Toni and I are at an age where a LOT of the folks that we grew up watching, listening to, reading, reading about, and, way more importantly, LOVING, are passing the plate for the last time at their home church and joining the Church of New Jerusalem.
This last couple of months hit hard with some significant losses that played a big part of our entertainment over the past half century. But it’s not something we’re just now recognizing.
On the day we chose to officially make two families one, we knew there were several folks that couldn’t make it in person because they already had front-row pews in the Church Triumphant. So we created a table for them and honored them during our reception. Looking at the picture of our joined family from that day, several of them have now gone on to make the Heavenly Choir sing even louder. That picture watches over our home daily, and it still does a number on us.
Thanks to His love for us — all of us — the first century or so of our existence is literally just the beginning of forever. Because of that empty tomb, ten thousand years will be nothing to our vocal cords in that Church Triumphant.
Just a thought from a guy that’s seen his share of folks join the Church of New Jerusalem. It’s never easy. But thanks to Him and that empty tomb, I know I’ll see you in awhile.
