How many of you wake up spoutin’ off four-letter words??? I know I do. Now, now, now… don’t get your britches in a twist. Not those kinda words. The one I’m thinkin’ of in particular is J-A-V-A.
Been drinkin’ that bean juice since we had a dude in office that was an actor and Michael J. Fox was drivin’ a DeLorean 88 miles per hour chasin’ after his mom so bridges could get named after Clint Eastwood!

As you can see, we’re real “connoisseurs” here. The kids make fun of me for drinkin’… well, I won’t repeat what they call it, but others call it “mud” or “sludge.” 🙂 Occasionally I’ll lighten it up with a little almond juice (I refuse to call that stuff milk!). They prefer the more refined Colombian instant (they won’t touch the espresso!) mixed with the sweet stuff and half-and-half.

Lookin’ at our mini coffee bar this mornin’ got me thinkin’ about how we start our day. We have choices on jump-startin’ ye ol’ blood. And as Christians, something else we typically do is jump into the Word — either through structured devotionals or Spirit-led study.

God prepares our hearts, souls, and minds for everything we’ll face throughout the day in the time we spend with Him. Hopefully we won’t need all the armor David needed that day when he chose stones to go against a giant… but God prepared him, and he was ready.
Just like any good father, God knows what we NEED. He also knows our wants. Those are almost always two different things. He will always give us what we NEED (maybe not in the way we WANT it, but in the way we NEED it) as long as we’re keepin’ our cups full of Him each and every day.
Just a thought from a guy whose cup runneth over thanks to Him. 🙂

How do you start your day ??? Can you rejoice in the day that the Lord has made ???
