Treasures

I’m gonna start off with a little “behind the scenes” of the askapop here … For y’all that have seen more than 1 or 2 of my videos, you’ve probably noticed the chaos behind my ugly mug … Ya know, i COULD do one of them there fancy “green screens” and put a professional lookin border up (i’d honestly thought about it when i started) but, decided against it … Because i wanted to show YOU the real ME … And that chaos you see are some of my favorite treasures built up over 30 years of being given love notes, projects, pictures and lots of other things too many to mention… Which brings me to today’s topic (neat how that works :-P)

What’s the most valuable thing in YOUR home ??? (outside of the people, i mean ???)  If you ask me, there’s no WAY i could name it, but, i could also name it in a heartbeat … But, let’s get back to that …

When you first walk into our home you’ll see … Chaos … A mix of toddler toys, hand made furniture, legacy furniture pieces passed down from relatives in Heaven, new stuff (obviously!) that we’ve bought over the years, and family pictures and art on the walls … A well lived in home … As you start to take a tour, whomever is guiding you will then start to talk your ear off about the different items if given a chance, skipping over anything that was purchased or the “shiny new” things and instead zeroing in on all of the stuff that can’t be bought on have a price tag hung on it … Hmmmm … The true treasures !!!!

The main “overflow” bin i grab my round tuits from is an over-sized coffee cup my son made me for father’s day one year … It’s never seen (nor will ever see!) a drop of coffee because it’s WAY TOO VALUABLE for such a mundane task as something like that !!! And, the family of dinosaurs he lovingly made me one year, their number one job is to keep the leaf steady that another family member found in our yard safe and secure …

So, now you know MY secret answer to the question above …. LOVE … Every one of those “things” represent different memories of LOVE that has been created inside and around this family over the lifetime that’s built it … And THAT is the true TREASURE in this house … How about yours ???

Bible Verses

Matthew 6:19-21 / Joshua 24:15 / Psalm 84
