Charging Up Our Daily Lives

Ya know, back in the stone ages when we used to write on caves and communicate with smoke signals all of the phones had cords on them and wouldn’t go very far … Ummmm … Good thing that we’ve advanced to where we now have everything in the clouds and have these fancy wireless phones that use so much juice that they keep having … to … get … plugged … in …. Ain’t technology great 🙂 …

I kid, that’s what i do! 🙂 … But looking around at all of the the different ways that i am able to stay juiced up both in the house and on the go got me thinking of how much time do we spend daily and weekly doing the same thing for our spiritual batteries ???

Y’all may have heard me talk in the past about my beloved Pappeye and his theory of the church being like our “spiritual alternator” and how it will allows us to run on our spiritual battery during the week and come in on Sunday for a charge.  Don’t get me wrong, weekly gatherings with fellow believers is ABSOLUTELY going to charge your spiritual battery, but, do you want to leave it to a single charge per week?  What happens when life gets crazy and you miss a week (or two) … How long will that charge last in that spiritual battery ???

Personally, i don’t want to risk running on empty and feel MUCH better when my batter is closer “full” so i try and find ways to fill my tank during the week … devotionals, scripture readings, prayer, and church … You’re probably saying “wait a minute Cec … Didn’t you say the whole thing ‘bout the Sunday church thing last paragraph?” … Yes i did … You’re very astute! … What i’m talking about here is where Christ mentioned 2 or more gathering in His name … Ahhhhh

Just some thoughts from a guy that’s got more wires than he has sense, but, is happy to say it is well with my soul 🙂 …
