Now, why would i be starting off a devotional with an exceptionally bad dad joke you say ??? Well, today’s the last day of school for my beloved’s kids this year and it got me thinkin’ … Is it really ??? Or is it just a DIFFERENT type of school that they’ll be able to experience for the next couple of months …
Don’t get me wrong, everything, and i do mean everything, that they teach in school is important, but, when kids get a chance to be … Well, kids, and get to go out and “touch grass” … Get to watch butterflies, hear cicadas, smell clouds, taste the fog, touch the dew … It’s … Well … A different kind kind of learning … Something that’s not going to be found in an ipad or in a structured classroom environment …
Wonderful and awesome programs like VBS and summer programs throughout communities all over are set up, most are either free or very low cost to help these kids experience things that they don’t get a chance to do during the school year …
So, while the school bells may stop ringing for a few months here in many parts of the US, that doesn’t mean that the learning stops, it just means that it shifts a bit …
