Fools and Little Children … Always!

there’s an old saying…. “God protects Fools and Little Children” … Whew … That means i’ve been covered since birth, just not in that order i guess 🙂 … But, all kiddin’ aside … Have y’all ever thought about what it means to be under HIS protection ??? Hmmmm …. There’s a couple Bible verses that we have here that have very different takes on it, but, in a way, very similar takes …

The parting of the Red Sea … Everytime i’ve read this passage (honestly, until today!) i’ve read it as God parted the sea for the Israelites to cross … But, this time around, i read it as God told Moses to stretch out his arms … While God still did the actions, He used a proxy on earth even then (not that He needed to, but, He chose to!) …

The Good Samaritan … This one hits home because while the first two guys that passed honestly didn’t do anything WRONG, (if they would have stopped, they would have not been able to do their jobs where they were going) … The third guy, the Samaritan, a guy that was supposed to “not like jewish folks” was the one to stop and help … Be the good neighbor (why am i thinking of an insurance company iykyk!) …

Now, back to present day Cecil and how, just this past week, His protection played out in our household … Right before a holiday weekend the AC went out (in Florida’s modern houses, no AC in the summer isn’t just hot, it can become very dangerous for young ones) … The company that we’ve used before to make repairs gave us the bad news that this time … it was terminal … Once we determined that we would be able to move forward with a new ac replacement we called them up to see if they’d be able to put a unit it … Knowing it was a holiday weekend, we were not expecting what was next … They were able to schedule the crew for the following day at regular rates (a crew that was planning to have a scheduled day off!) to ensure that our family would not have to suffer the heat … Furthermore, when the unit that they were going to install turned out to be defective from shipping, the owner of the company, on his day off, took the time to deliver a new one on-site to ensure the job was completed.

While no one parted any seas or became saints, these are the kinds of things that make neighbors GOOD neighbors and make earth as it is in Heaven just a little bit more each day …

Just a thought from a guy that’s much cooler thanks to some Good Samaritans ….
