Greasin The Wheels for Memories

There’s a movie playin’ this weekend that me and my sweetie are excited about … Not filmed in imax or 3d … Heck, we’re lucky stereo was a think at the time … (kidding, not that old!) … Nope … Danny and Sandy are gonna be dancin around Rydell high with their friends singin’ and dancin’ and what-not introducin’ Summer Lovin’ to a whole new group of Gen Zer’s out there …. Funny thing is, that play (yup, was a play first!) and movie was actually a throw back to a simpler time when it was produced way back in the days with this ole’ guy was a young whpper snapper, and WE thought it was too crazy then and were wanting to look back to a simpler time and place … HA!!! “those were the days” (wait a minute, that’s a different show!) …..

I guess where i’m goin’ with this is that we (people) do what we do … Get better at this thing called life … Including making it more complicated … Think about the circle of friends 500 years ago … It’d be who’s in your town, period … Then, 150 years ago, could be your county … 50 years ago … Your state … Now … Heck is the south pole even off limits ??? But, i digress … While things get more complicated we are always looking back to a simpler time, but that doesn’t mean we want to or need to bury our head into the sand to what the future can and will bring … Nor does it mean we need to forget what “got us here” …

Honoring and respecting the past while looking forward to the future is what will allow us to move forward without making the same mistakes our fathers and mothers made before us …

Wow … Who’d have thunk that a movie from the 70’s with a bunch of 20 year old actors trying to act like teenagers in the 50’s would have so much meaning in the 20’s 50 years later … There Are “Stranger Things” … Too much math, we need Doc Brown !!!!

Bible Verses

2 Corinthians 5:16-21 / Psalm 77 / Matthew 5:17-20
