For those of y’all that don’t know, my day job is working with, creating, and teaching databases … I’m only mentioning it here because … Geek alert … I’m gonna <insert> some #comments in (ok ok ok, enough of that!) … The one thing that i want to bring up about databases is indexing … You see, on every database table (where the data is stored) they have one or more “indexes” in that table to show the “really important” and possibly unique things about that table that can be used in other ways …. Hmmmm can you think of “indexes” in your life ??? When i was going to make this originally, i was going to start going thru all of the important stuff in my life, and, honestly, i’d need an index  to INDEX the important stuff going on in my life at this point … Which is why i totally get and understand BOTH of the bible readings today, but, guess what, i’ve got the best indexer in the WORLD, i’ll give you 3 guesses (pun intended!) … Whenever i start to get overwhelmed about what’s going on or i have too much to do or, well, there’s not enough time, THAT’S when the first thing i do is pause, breathe, and pray … Let HIM help me straighten it out and “reindex” what’s important, what needs to happen when and where … I feel that when Christ was telling the kids that it’s harder for a rich man to make it to heaven, i feel that he’s warning them (and us) that the more we have, the harder it is to remember WHO is really in charge (hint, it AINT US) … Same with Mary when he’s reminding her that while she’s doing a whole heap of “good things” but ignoring the elephant in the middle of the room … Just a thought from a guy that wants to ride the camel instead of threading it thru the eye of a needle 🙂 ….
