when I was just a young whippersnapper there was a fella on the radio (that’s these things in cars that played music before podcasts :-D) and he’d give the top 40 songs in the nation each week on a “countdown” … his name was Casey Kasem … one of his tag lines was “keep your feet on the ground but keep reaching for the stars” … you know, I still think of that guy when teaching lessons like the one I’m ‘bout to give here … you tell me if you think it fits 🙂 …
when people ask me what my favorite verse in the Bible is I say I’ve got 3 … if you ask my beloved, she would probably say it’s ‘cause I’m difficult (hmmmm … she does know me best) … but, in this case, stick with me … I think they tie together … but, first, the whole dang thing is my first answer 😛 … but, really, they’re Genesis 1-3, John 3:16-17, and Isaiah 40:26 … it’s Christian Faith in a nutshell … a God powerful enough to SPEAK the universe into existance (Genesis), all knowing enough to know (and have known!) every star in the sky and what what was/is in each system (Isaiah), and yet He loves me enough to send His Son to die for me (John) …
when I see the clouds or the stars or the rain or the .. well, whatever, how can we NOT see the awesome Power and Love of a He who first shows His Love ??? just a thought from a guy that, yes, keeps his feet on the ground and keeps reachin’ for the stars !!!
