Be Prepared … Scouts Honor!

How many times have you walked by somethin’ you’ve seen a hundred, no, several hundred times, and see it DIFFERENTLY ??? yup … it happened to me yesterday … thanks God 🙂 … as lil’bit and I were takin’ our afternoon stroll we passed by the fire hydrant at the opposite end of the lake, why is that important you ask, you see, to go ANYWHERE in our neighborhood, you pass by this thing and he is fascinated with it (and that’s usually what I think of when we pass it!) … but, not yesterday … you see, yesterday I was drawn to take a pic of it, and well, here we are … what does that same said fire hydrant, a Bible, some tuits in a change purse, and me getting re-dedicated in the River Jordan all have in common ??? (well, other than they’re all in this post, obviously :-P) … need more time … it’s ok … I’ll wait … I’m patient 🙂 … they’re all about being prepared …. (the patient is a little reference to one of our readings today) … you see, being prepared comes in many forms, but, He wants us to be just that, in every way we can …. one of the anagrams we teach the kids in the “little’s” Sunday School is that Bible stands for “Basic Information Before Leaving Earth” … just the other day someone had asked me a question and immediately stopped and apologized for “putting me on the spot” … I smiled at them and reminded them that I (a) had taught Sunday school for 20 years and (b) most of that time has been to teenagers who ask anything and everything, so, don’t worry, and then proceeded to answer 😉 … it’s been 40 years since I was a scout, but, their motto, “Be Prepared” still plays true … hey, isn’t one of their pledges to be reverent …. hmmmmm

Bible Verses

Matthew 25:1-13 / Psalm 37:1-19

Questions

how do you prepare yourself ???? does it include spiritually ??? (no judgment here!) … after today, if it didn’t before, do you think you may try ???
