while out on an excursion today i noticed that we are totally surrounded by signs and boy and they pushy … it’s like the powers that be don’t trust us to make the right decisions and want us all to just “fall in line and all do the same thing at the same time” … jeez … how boring … ok, maybe not boring, because without those “guardrails” (hey, they’re a thing, too!) in place, it’d be utter chaos on the roads (trust me, i know, i thought i’d witnessed it in NYC until i witnessed it for REAL in Rome!) … kidding, well, sort of … but, i digress … you see, those signs DO help us stay on the right path and, as long as we “mostly” follow them, then, we all kinda get where we need to go …. boy, wouldn’t it be great if we had that for life …. (spoiler alert … we DO!!!) … you see, there’s a collection of 66 books that, if you let it, gives you ALL of the guidance you’ll need to navigate your life on a daily basis … while the words may have been penned thousands of years ago, they were done so with HEAVENLY guidance and, more importantly, if you ask your personal TOUR GUIDE to help you navigate before, during, and after each dive into those books, HE will give you insights that will help YOU where YOU are today … it wasn’t a mistake that Jesus taught many of His lessons in parables … it was a hint to His disciples then as much as it is to us today that He will guide us individually if we let Him in when looking for meaning to the scripture … a lot of folks mention that “God is my Co-Pilot” … i always joke that if that’s the case, then i’m praying for your Pilot 😊 …. personally, God is my PILOT … and, when i feel as though i’m not receiving His message loud and clear, my pastor is my Air Traffic Controller to keep with that analogy … just a thought from a guy that sees signs all the time both on the road and in my Bible 😊 …. (you’re welcome for me NOT singing the song, i dare you to NOT be thinking about that song in your head right now 😊)

do you pray for discernment before reading the Bible ??? how about afterwards ??? (no judgement here … i know that sometimes when i’m looking for something quickly i’ll start without it and can’t find it until i stop and pray … i guess i just told on myself :-D)
