ok … ain’t it funny how we start to plan stuff and i kinda picture God lookin’ down with a chuckle and a “well bless his heart” smile on His face as we think we got it under control … welp, that happens to me, um, daily … sometimes with bigger things than others, but, in the end, even with someone who is trained as a project manager, the only thing that ever goes truly to plan is that you can guarantee that something’s gonna go sideways but it’s how we handle it that makes all the difference in the world … yesterday reminded me of that in a HUGE way … you see, without going into a lot of the specifics, about a quarter of a century ago i’d decided that i had it all planned out … yes, i had my family, friends and beloved cat and that was that (hey, i’m a poet and don’t know it!) … i’d had a marriage that didn’t work out and figured that i’d given it a go and bought the lifelong bachelor pad …. welp, turns out that one of my best friends ended up having a daughter that had an inner ear surgery and since he was out of town, i went and looked in on her after she went home from staying with friends … after taking her out for chicken corn soup and talking for several hours, well, i then had to figure out how to call my buddy up to see if it was ok to ask his daughter out (he laughed and said he’d been wanting to get us together!) … anyway, i’ll spare you the details, but, our Father in Heaven knew that cats wouldn’t do as companions (she had two as well) and also knew her heart and knew she was ready to move on (she was a widow) … He put us together without either one of us having a clue that we were the missing half the other needed … half our lives later i can’t imagine a day without her being in it and can’t imagine what life would have been like had she not been a part of building what WE have built up here … now, back to the original statement, i’d originally planned an entirely different post but when i started looking for pictures for it several pics of pairs kept calling to me … i’m sure He had something to do with that, too 😊 …. may God bless you all as much as He does everyone in this household each and every day!!!
