King of the Castle

dominion … man, that’s a fancy (and scary!) word !!! … you’re probably wonderin’ “uh-oh… where’s he goin…..” … you see … last night after an exhausting day of work all i wanted to do was to relax on the couch for a couple of minutes before makin’ my way into bed … i think the term is “veg” … but, you see, willie had other ideas … he stalked up and informed me in no uncertain terms that while i was querie’n queries, takin’ care of toddlers, spending quality time with my beloved, and a dozen other things that were on this ole guy’s agenda for a weekday, i’d only spent a limited amount of time giving him the proper amount of attention and he was there to rectify that … while he was taking his turn, shadow appeared and patiently waited while izzy was nice enough to wait until i made it to the bedroom to hop his 25 pound self on my chest for his chance … ha! … king of the castle huh 😊 … i wouldn’t have it any other way because, according to MY KING, i’m exactly that … now, let’s get back to that scary word for a minute … a lot of folks take that to mean they get to rule and “lord over” what or whomever is in their “dominion” … but, the King of Kings shows by example exactly what it means to have dominion over something, it means to drop to your knees and to serve them … servant leadership, whether its pets, a household, a workplace, a … well, anywhere, shows that not only do you VALUE those that are in your CARE (hmmmm that’s a better word than dominion, don’t you think!) so much that you’re going to be there for them, no matter what … just a thought from a guy that learned a long time ago that it’s not what we gain but what we give that measures the worth of the life we live !!!!
