whilst making my culinary masterpiece this morning (doesn’t that sound a whole lot better than makin’ flapjacks for breakfast) 😛 the Spirit reminded me it’s a WHOLE lot like life …. stick with me for a couple minutes and let me know if you agree … you see, we COULD go on “easy mode” and simply “just add water” to these here flapjacks and they turn out just fine (trust me, we’ve done that before when we’re in a hurry,) but, whenever we have the extra time, we can spend a little of that time and effort to make them a LOT better (and better for us) …. the eggs make them fluffier and healthier and the applesauce (peach mango at that!) gives them a flavor all their own … now, you’re probably thinkin’ “thanks for the cookin’ tip cec, but, how’s this an askapop?” … good question J … glad you asked … what if we do the same thing to our Bible study …. take the time before we read to ask God to open our hearts and minds to REALLY understand it … then, as we’re reading, how about using one of the gazillion tools we now have at the ready thanks to the interwebs to look up the different places that it mentions during the reading or maybe read more about history of what was going on then to find out more about the reason why people acted why they did …. (kinda like maybe why a hundred years from now people may ask why we all have a fascination with 6-7 in 2025/26 :-D) …. just a thought from a guy that tries to learn the REST of the story while eatin’ his peach mango flapjacks with his lil’buddy J!!!
