There’s An App For That

the other day i went to open up an app on my tablet and it told me i had to wait a WHOLE MINUTE while it updated … jeez … but, that minute gave me pause (see what i did there :-P) … and allowed me to think ‘bout what if our life was like that … where when somethin’ was not so great or needed fixin or a “tweak” all that we would need to happen was a an update and ‘voila’ no more glitch …. and, if something REALLY was goin’ sideways or not workin’ great, we could UNINSTALL it and then REINSTALL it or simply find a different app to do the same thing hmmmm ….. it was then that the Spirit hit me with a “duh …. cecil … you already have that app …. 😊 called REDEMPTION” … you see, God knew that he didn’t want robots and slaves, He created a world where people are free to love them IF they chose to do so which means that they’re also free to make all sorts of other choices … some good and some, well, let’s say that’s where app upgrades and resets need to come into play … whenever i need an “upgrade” or “reset” i turn to my “app store” … that would be my Creator 😊 … if i’m lookin’ for some code i will go directly to the Bible, but, if i’m not sure what i need, then, i can search for it (it’s hard to show a screen shot of a call in to my pastoral leader here, but, that’s in the cards, too!) … and, if i’ve messed up (sinned) and need to have my “app” reset, then, to my knees for repentance and redemption is in order … Jesus died for our sins, period … He asks no more than for us to confess them to Him and promise Him that we will try to do better and try not to do them again … personally, whenever i am asking this, i do picture Him either in a courtroom standing beside me as my counselor (look it up, that’s one of His titles!) saying to God “it’s ok Dad, he’s with me”, or sometimes i picture Him on the cross and it brings tears to my eyes knowing just how much He loves me to have done that for me and asked nothing in return … and, because of that, He has truly earned the title Lord in my heart and i do everything i can for Him … an app fit for a King …
