i was gettin’ ready to load lil’bit into the family truckster for our weekly trek to the grocery stores this mornin’ when i was lettin’ him get his “wiggles” out a bit first (this ain’t my first rodeo, after all!) … we were takin’ a short walk and i noticed i sign in our front yard i’ve seen hundreds of times, but, it caught my attention … i guess that’s what they’re meant to do … and the Spirit started workin’ on me for this post … you see, the world does a pretty good job, at least in my neck of the woods, about tellin’ us where to go … and where we are … from what to do, (like the “Caution, Children at Play” sign) to where we can and can’t park to where we are and sometimes even warning us that there’s mysteries ahead that could make us happy …. if you stop and think about it, thanks to proper signage and people not wanting to be sued, there’s pretty much signs for everything, even down to what’s in what we eat … now, when i was younger, and even sometimes now, i sometimes think “boy, i just wish God would TELL or SHOW me what He wants” … (here’s a hint … He does … it’s in a combination of those pages of that thing we call the Bible that helps with the conversation you can have with Him called prayer!) … as one of our readings today shows, even one of the greatest Prophets in the Bible questioned whether Jesus was truly the One (and this is his cousin and he had been preaching ahead of him for years!) … so, if you have questions or doubts about faith, don’t be discouraged, you’re in good hands, just don’t give up and pray for the answers, and, asking for help in discernment isn’t weakness … i’m sharing this one today because far too often i see and talk to folks that mention that “God only did miracles in the olden days” … but, you know what, there’s not a day goes by that i don’t see signs of His Love and Greatness and Grace all throughout my life and those around me … one of the cornerstones of this ministry is a simple phrase that “seeing isn’t believing, believing is seeing” …. You see, once the love of God is in your heart, you can’t help but see His handiwork everywhere 😊 … as far as when His Son will be back, well, no one knows, not even His Son, and, if anyone tells you different, then, tell them that Matthew wrote down a sign to say so and told us we should always be ready but no one would know the hour … for the last 2,000 years all of us brothers and sisters in Him have been doing work in His name and waiting, keeping the lights on 😊 …. just a thought while following all of the signs …. well, maybe not the one about serving sizes when it comes to oreo cookies, really, who can eat just two ….
