arighty then … by now y’all can guess that i hold my Pappeye, Papa, and Dad in pretty high esteem, i’ve mentioned them often enough in these here ramblings, but, when i was doin my shopping today the Spirit whalloped me (ironically much like the three women i’ll be talking about used to when i forgot somethin’ important!) when i came across a “bogo” of an item my beloved Nanny used to put into her tea each morning that both sweetened and lightened her tea at the same time … living with Nanny and Pappeye for a couple of years, i was blessed to see this ritual daily and she used to giggle as she did it while Pappeye would talk about it weakening the tea and “just plain ruining it,” but, it was in jest as they had the same discussion over thousands of breakfasts … you see, for Pappeye to have his ministry and do his work at the shop and Papa to deliver his bread they both needed strong partners to keep them in line, and Lord knows that it took a village along with the strongest mother in the world to whip this nitwit into shape (not to mention my little brother as a side-kick!) … and, just when i thought the bar couldn’t be raised any higher in the mother department along came the most loving caring and understanding one of the bunch who, without a care or thought in the world opened up our home without a moments hesitation to her soon to be mother in law who needed round the clock care and gave up her job to do so, and then has been an amazing mother and now mimi as well as a Sunday school teacher and professional educator …. the Bible is full of very strong women that were willing to be strong partners and leaders when needed, but, just as today, many times they seem to be resigned to the shadows … leading up to one of our most Holy times of year, yes, His birth is ABSOLUTELY the most important part, but, let’s all take time to remember a very young girl that was brave enough to trust the Lord as well 😊 …. just a thought from a guy that almost broke into tears when looking at a few cans of milk this morning thinking of an amazing woman that never asked for a bit of credit but deserved so very much of it !!!!
