round here birthdays seem to come in bunches … well, at least for most in the family … it seems i’m the only one that doesn’t fit in (no comments from the peanut gallery!) … anyhoo, just ‘cause they all come in batches don’t make any of’em less or more important, ‘cause, you see, each one is super duper special ‘cause it’s a mark of someone i care deeply for makin’ it around the sun one more time … now, in this case, it’s “number one son” doin’ just that 😊 … and, to mark the occasion, just like every year, as a loving father, it’s my job to make it as difficult as possible for him to get to his present (it’s a tradition!) … you see, i may have an affinity for duct tape (if you can’t fix it, duck it!) and ever since “big lil’ bit” was just “lil’bit” it’s been a tradition to wrap at least one of his gifts up in the quackin’ tape instead of paper … does it make sense … nope … is it cheaper … heck no … is it easier … again no … but it’s a tradition started by my dad and passed down to me and hopefully one day lil’bit will be getting his hands all sticky ‘cause his dad did the same to him 😊 … now, how’s this tie into church you say ??? good question !!! … you see, teachin’ our next generation traditions needs to be about the bonds that will “stick” us together (ha, see what i did there!) … creating shared history and memories with duct tape presents ALONG with memories of VBS and theme parks and Sunday school and camping trips and mission trips and … well, you get the picture, now, on to the cake 😊 … have an AWESOME day !!!!
