gonna tell you a little secret ‘bout me … ya know i’m the fourth !!! yup … there was a Cecil 1, 2, 3, and me !!!! and, to keep us all apart, they called my great grandfather “Big Buddy,” my grandfather “Buddy,” my dad was then “Little Buddy” and… welp, that left “Baby Bud” for me … makes perfect sense huh 😛 … so, even before i was born not only did God know my name but i guess my parents did too if i had the right equipment … and, from what i heard about my little brother, there was a monumental fight about that one because dad wanted his best friend to have the honor and mom felt it only fair to have her dad to have the honor since i was carrying dad’s dad’s name so, in our true family fashion, neither won and they named him something totally different and gave him BOTH names for middle names … now … why am i ramblin’ on about this ??? good question … you see names mean something … the ones that our folks give us out of the gate are important, but, then we start picking up different ones almost immediately … “lil’bit,” i’m sure you know, isn’t my grandson’s real name, but, that’s what i call him most of the time, and, in return, every time he looks at me and says “Pappeye” it warms my heart because it reminds me of the first guy i knew that had that name … before writing this i started thinking about the different names i’ve had over the years, and, more importantly, to the different folks that have called me those names … you see, folks only give you special names if you mean enough to them to do so, so, names MEAN something … that’s really what’s in a name 😊 … thinking about the first Bible verse today, a quick history lesson, the reason why God was saying “I AM” to Moses was, at that time all of the Egyptians had “little g” gods that had names and He wanted to make sure that Moses and the Israelites knew that He couldn’t be put on a shelf or “in a box” … (thanks Jeff and Cara, see, i did pay attention!) … Anyhoo, i’m gonna go and continue to earn a couple of the names i have now but i wish you a GREAT day !!!
