i was mixin’ up a batch o flapjacks this mornin’ for the family and it got me thinkin’ about the Spirit … you see … today’s concoction consisted of cinnamon and sugar and once it tipped a certain scale i didn’t know existed, the pancakes went from cakey yellow to a cool lookin’ burnt umber (and you thought i’d never use that outside of a box of crayons!) … but, i digress … you see, adding in enough of that changed it forever (and the taste…. wowza … you gotta try it!) … but, i’m more on about the change … you see, the batter could no longer hold in what the new had and had to show it … does that remind you of anything 😊 … then we went to the grocery store … it’s always a blast to go with lil’bit … i don’t know who has more fun (pretty sure it’s not anyone that goes with us!) but, during the trip i started looking at other foods that would both “show” and “hide” what they had … like pot pies … they can be all tricky and stuff … you can look at one if it’s cooked and not got the container to tell you and think “is it gonna be a sweet treat or a savory meal” … and then there’s a family favorite, pizza …. it really wears it’s colors on the outside, but, then again, there’s some that still have a little something to hide … now, let’s bring this back into our faith journey for a second … how has the Spirit affected you ??? has it changed you forever like the pancakes ??? if so, do you hide it like the pot pie or wear it out and about like the pizza, or maybe a bit of both ??? there’s really no wrong answer to the above, but, it definitely is something to think about … and, speaking of thinking about … honestly, i DO like the analogy of the cinnamon and sugar into the batter with the Spirit into our lives … it does change us and the more we let the Spirit in, the more we exude His Love and Grace in everything we do simply by being us … it’s something we can’t help because He is in our lives, and what sweeter thing could be than that 😊 … have an AWESOME day !!!!
