Something Old and Something New

ya know … while makin’ lil’bit lunch today i got inspired to do an ssa … not the one i’m writin’, mind ya, but, ain’t that how it goes ??? ya see, while preparin’ and fippin his grilled cheese i was thinkin about how i could work this into a real poetic and smart example of how experience and love creates ties that…. well, it would have been cheesey (ha!) but, the Lord had different ideas … He had me watchin lil’bit while we shared a meal together … two folks that have a few years between us but definitely can teach each other lots of stuff, and, together, i figure we still got some stuff to teach the world … now, he’s all new and shiny and will grow up in a totally different world than what i grew up in and undoubtedly will see and face things that i’ll never even fathom, but, with the wisdom that myself, his mimi, his mom and dad, and all of his village help him impart, and with the Lord by his side, he’ll be ready and prepared to do great things … while i was sitting there, i started thinking of the Bible … how you’ve got two books sitting side by side, forever tied together (actually there’s 66 books broken into 2 testaments if you wanna be picky about it 😛 ) … and i’ve taught for years, it’s not a history book, but a “living 2 way communication”  with our Lord … you can pick it up at any time and God will speak to you where YOU are … it’s awesome and powerful … the “old” testament is just as powerful in setting table for Jesus … and the “new” testament where Jesus didn’t come to rewrite the law, but, to fulfill it … both books equally important and equally inspired to lead us in our day to day lives where He wants us to be … just a thought from a guy eating grilled cheese on rye with his wonderful grandson this fine day 😊 …

Bible Verses

Genesis 1 / John 1

Questions

How do you feel about the “old” stuff in your life ??? are there things that you cherish … things that you just “use up” and throw away ??? how about chasing after the new stuff ???
