ok … how many of you can say that you have been able to get ready for the first day of first grade more than 15 times ??? would you believe me if i told you i have … now now now … keep it down in the peanut gallery, even i’m not THAT bad at phonics 😀 … you see, my better half has been teachin for more years than i know to admit, and at least a decade and a half of them have been to the first graders, so now you know … and, you know what, each and every year she gets better at setting up her room because she learns something new each and every year to help her teach the next batch o kids just a little better than the last batch … if you can’t tell, i’m more than a little proud of her 😊 … today’s teachers have it rough, there’s a lot of distractions and things out there to keep the kids from wanting to learn, but, that doesn’t stop these caring and talented professionals from doing their best each and every day with our next generation just as teachers throughout the ages have … just as James warned us in the Bible Verse today, it’s not for the faint of heart, but, it’s truly needed … now, why am i putting this in as an ssa, well, it’s kind of a “call to arms” for all of us out there … if you have any children in your life, please help them after school and on the weekends, stay engaged and ask what they’re learning … (also ask what they’re learning in Sunday School too 😊 ) … make sure they know that you care about their education, trust me, it’ll go a long way … if you know any teachers, do the same, ask what they’re teaching and how they’re doing, again, letting them know that you’re praying for them and know that you’re in their corner, and, finally, if you don’t happen to know of any personally, i happen to know a Guy that happens to know ALL of them, so, if you ask Him to look after all of them, He will 😊 …. Just a thought from a guy that gets to do arts and crafts for a couple weeks in July each and every year while doing as much as he can to help his awesome wife set up her classroom …. c is for cookie, that’s good enough for me !!!
