ya know what they say …. “give a man a fish and he’ll eat today, teach a man to fish and you won’t see him all weekend” … ummm … wait … i don’t think that’s EXACTLY right, but, anyhoo, i’m only half talkin’ about that statement anyway … you see, like most everyone else on this planet, i’ve been blessed to be on both sides of the “teachin” and “learnin’” side of the aisle and, especially when it’s your loved ones that you’re teachin’, it’s REALLY hard to not just step in and DO for them when you see them struggling, knowing that part of learning is the mistakes that they’re making are part of the process, and, yes, that means that sometimes there’s gonna be more mess for the teachers to have to clean up afterwards, but, it’s worth it in the end … watching lil’bit enjoy learning how to navigate a pb&j today (and make an unholy mess in the process) was truly a joy to watch … both he and i had fun and, i think that it was the first of many pb&j’s that he’ll have, and, it got me thinking back to the first Sunday school class i taught … it was just as much of a hot mess and i can only imagine the good Lord looking down and laughing in that all knowing way He has ‘cause on the 100’th attempt, i’d probably start getting a wee bit better and the kids definitely were hootin and hollering (sorry Mary Ann!) … anyway, what I’m getting at is that the only perfect person walked this great earth a couple thousand years ago and set the bar really high and we all strive to be like Him (hmmmm, Christ like … Christian, that’s got a ring to it!!!) … welp, that’s about all for me today … hopefully one day i’ll get better at these, too !!!
