i’m gonna tell a secret … one of my best lessons was taught to me in a k-mart (i’m dating myself again!) parking lot way back in the mid 80’s … you see, way back in the olden times, we didn’t have amazon or wally world, so, when we needed something, we went on a hunt … usually to more than one store before we found it (because there was no interwebs to tell us who had it) and it would turn into an adventure .. well, this particular Saturday, Pappeye and i were on such an adventure when we finally found what we were looking for (there’s a song there!, but, i digress, man, this add is really something!) and we were headed back out when i found a shiny quarter in the parking lot … SCORE … back then, that’s a pack of gum, candy, or, on the right day, believe it or not, even a hot dog! … so, i pocketed it and started thinking about what to do with the booty as Pappeye started back in … i asked him why we were headed back in, and he said to return the quarter … i was confused … finders keepers and all, plus, it’s JUST a quarter … he then gave me that smile that said a lesson was coming and asked if it was MY quarter, i reluctantly said no …. he then asked if my integrity could be bought for a quarter … well, when you put it that way, i led the way back the confused customer service desk where we returned the not our quarter … when we walked out of that store, i had a new question on my mind …. just what WAS my integrity worth … that was over 4 decades ago and, you know what, there’s NEVER been a number that reaches that !!! …. thought I’d share just what that quarter is worth to me 😊 … have a BLESSED day !!!
