Do You See What I Hear

who out there DOESN’T have a favorite song ??? heck, i’ve got several depending on my mood and the genre that we’re talking about, but, that’s not that i’m talking about today … today, i’m talking about something similar, but a bit different … do you have any songs that bring you back to a particular place and time … the other day, i was watching lil’bit in the living room and Blessings came on and suddenly i was back in our session retreat years ago with Rev. Sumner leading us just as clearly as the day i was sitting there in that retreat hearing it for the first time (which was the first time i’d heard that song) … each time i hear In the Garden i’m back on my Pappeye’s front porch and can even smell that organ he had out there (that he got so mad at us when we messed with it!) and From This Moment will forever bring me to the dance floor our wedding reception and my beautiful wife (and only one more, i promise!) now, when i hear The Wall it actually brings me to Sea World standing between my wife and one of our dear friends while LoneStar covered the song … trust me, there’s nothing better than standing between two teachers singing “we don’t need no education” …. but, i digress …. where was i …. oh yea … songs bringing us back … you know that David wrote the Psalms to be sung, for the most part, as a way to stay connected to God ….
