Remember Our Sabbath … And Our Date Day !!!

Ya see… the absolute only thing I love more than my sweetie is, well, my Lord. And that’s ok, ’cause the only thing she loves more than me is, well, Him. So, wow. Yet another thing we have in common. Like peas and carrots. We’re just meant to be together.

Both of us work very long hours in different fields (very different hours, too) and, honestly, especially with Lil’Bit in the mix, sometimes it feels like ships passing in the night during the week. We sit down to a 30-minute meal together (if we’re lucky) and then “tag, you’re it” before I head off to one corner and she heads off to another.

But then there’s S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y. Yes. There’s still chores—some we do together, some we gripe at each other over—but we TRY. Really TRY. To carve out hours of the day where we clean up, leave the house and everything else behind, and become boyfriend and girlfriend for a few hours. The way Song of Songs reminds us we should love each other.

Then S-U-N-D-A-Y comes. Still things to do, but again, we’re setting an example in the house. And the same love we have for each other we have for Him. As Mark reminds us, the Sabbath wasn’t made for Him—it was made for us. For us to recharge and revive ourselves. “Recharging our Christian batteries,” if you will, by intentionally spending quality time with other followers and, in both of our cases, since we teach, sharing the Gospel as He commanded us.

Just a thought from a guy that’s writing this now, has a few chores to do, but then you’ll find me on a hot date with the hottest girl on the planet.
