Who’d have thunk a couple of PBnJ’s that’d make someone with OCD twitch would make good bedfellows for a devotional. All’s I can say is welcome to Toni’s world and she’d appreciate all the prayers you can send her way. Strap in.

As yours truly was makin’ my culinary masterpiece between calls yesterday (don’t judge, I’m 56 in age but 12 in spirit) that’s when the Spirit hit me with this one. Drivin’ to our church on Sunday we pass more churches than we can shake a stick at. Well, honestly, that’d be exactly one, ’cause I’d never shake a stick at a church, but you get my meanin’.

There’s Baptist and Catholics and Methodists, oh my. Tons more, and that’s before we even start to get into the non-denominational churches. Ones that aren’t affiliated. Meaning they’re kinda sort of sometimes maybe workin’ with some other churches but maybe not.
Why do we drive by all of those? Heck, does that make ours right and theirs wrong?
Let me see that PBnJ. When I was a kid, if it wasn’t cut cattywhampus, it was wrong. Just wrong. I had friends at school that believed just the opposite. No matter how hard we argued, we’d never convince each other. And sometimes we’d lose friends over it.

Ouch. A couple thousand years ago Paul was sayin’ the same thing in Corinth. Remindin’ folks of what really mattered. He then reminded the folks in Ephesus of the same thing. It’s Christ. Followin’ Him. That’s important. The how we do it is all just details.

Just a thought from a guy that does pass by several other good places of worship to find the one that he chooses to call his church home each week. And follows his Savior each and every day.
