Ya know… I’ll bet there’s a mornin’ routine folks around the world share. Timezone, zip code, language, hair color — doesn’t matter. I’ll bet it’s one of the first things they do each and every mornin’.
Yup. You guessed it. Open their eyes.
If you’re in that demographic, stick with me. Let’s call ourselves the Ocular Club. Kinda cool, huh. Way better than the teacups or the coffee clutch. Those folks have tasty reasons to include and exclude certain things from their midst. Or their cups.
Me, I tried tea for a while. No matter how many of those blasted bags I stuffed in, it never got strong enough. Some of the folks in the house, on the other hand, take olfactory offense at my brewin’ o’ the bean juice — like it could walk across the kitchen to the mug all by itself. Huh.
Then there’s the half-caf triple-pump double-shot-with-a-twist crowd. That’s cool. Not sure I could get their order right without Keep Notes open. But I do know a Guy who would. And He loves all of us.
All of the Ocular Club. And the ones outside it too.
Anyone who comes to Him thirsty — not just for a mornin’ pick-me-up — gets a Living Water that keeps a soul full. Isaiah saw it comin’ years before Christ walked up and said it out loud: come. No money. Drink.
