T I M E … Blessings in Seconds Years Go By Quick

Here’s a fun fact … I used to DJ … I know … I know … Hard to believe that I’d be able to talk in front of people without getting nervous and act a fool, right …

Wow … Some days it feels like it was a lifetime ago and other days it feels like it was just yesterday that i was in that cramped little booth sitting up there …. That was almost 40 years ago … But, my love of music hasn’t diminished, just the realization that the amount of people making a good living around it made computers a much better career choice !!!

Why am i bringing this bit o trivia up, you may ask ??? Good Question 🙂 … You see, at that time in my life I thought that totin’ 45’s to parties, poppin’ in Radio CARTs, and making mix tapes was the end-all-be-all …. Until time moved on …

Over the years there’s been the finishing of college, a couple “starter jobs” before finding RadioShack that truly started my path in computers (while still in college, actually!) …. The winding road that, within 5 years of that leading me to the career that, within a couple months, is 3 decades on to what i’m doing now …

Some friends that have been here for a season, some have been here for a lifetime … Several family members that have went home to the Church of New Jerusalem, and, just a few years ago, there was a pretty serious scare that I may be one of them, but, through it all, faith, hope, and love have been in this household … and above all, it’s been love …

We’re going to see some dear friends we’ve not seen in at least a decade today, but, thanks to Social Media, we’ve been able to keep in touch over the years as they’ve moved around the country (i’m sure that’s why the Spirit has put this on me today!) … We’re excited to finally give hugs and catch up with them properly …

Time will move on but making sure that as it does love and friendships don’t is truly important … as Christ had reminded us it’s the 2nd of His greatest commandments 🙂 …. Love God with all your heart and soul, and love others as yourself !!!!

Questions

How do you look at time ??? Are there things that you look back on fondly now that time and distance have given them perspective?

(oh, a quick ps … the couple we’re pictured with in two comparison picture is NOT the couple we’re going to meet today … that’s another couple (ha!) dear friends!!!)
