Those that forget the past are doomed to relive it … A quote that i learned a long time ago and it stuck … Ya see, we’re not all that complicated, we tend to do the same things, think the same ways, and … Yup … You guessed it … Make the same mistakes … Just with different surroundings 🙂 …
Perusin through our Holy Land pics today got me thinkin’ bout not only that phrase but about what it actually meant …
You see … When we go divin’ into history books or the Bible or into historical sites we see things through the eyes of … Well … Today … But, if we stop and think for a second, each one of those sites, each one of those names, each one of those parables, each one of those lessons had real people …
- There was a real synagogue with people showing up … Some sitting around the edges, some sitting towards the center … Arguing over the Torah … The way it was meant to be …
- A tomb carved into the side of a mountain … Empty …
- A sidewalk that people have walked on for thousands of years … Stones that have been touched by thousands of of travelers …
To show an example of just how fast something can be transformed, there’s a picture of our house, yes HOUSE that was taken about 2 months before final walk through paperwork was signed … And another taken 3 months ago … No longer a house, but now a HOME with over two decades of living in that “living room” … Transformed forever not by drywall and paint but by Faith Hope and Love ….
If that can be done in a mere two decades … We can definitely see what 2 millennia has been able to do with His Faith Hope and Love … Just sayin 🙂
