When my beloved and i were out the other day she mentioned to me that there was a kit on sale that would dye my beard … I mentioned to her that i didn’t have a single gray hair when i met her and one of the other shoppers looked at me like i was about to breathe my last until i pointed out that was 25 years ago and that those have been the best 25 years of my life 🙂 … Ya know, back then i could also see serial numbers and read just about anything without making those “old people” faces that, well, show up on my face when i put the reading glasses on and make the same said face ….
While my eyes and muscles may not be as sharp as they were a quarter of a century ago, the breadth of knowledge has definitely increased, and, thanks to the tools that i have at my disposal, for the most part, i can still do now what i did then 🙂 … Maybe even a little more so !!! Which is what got me thinkin’ about today’s devotional …
God has blessed us with so many different gifts that we, as the body of Christ, can use to further His Kingdom. Some we choose to use some we hide, some we squander, and others we’ll share. All because of another gift He as freely given, free will … Personally, staying grounded in the Word, weaving Prayer throughout not only my study but my daily life has been and continues to be the most important part of my faith journey. This allows me to see Him in everything from a sunrise to a caterpillar crossing the road to child laughing …
The years may change how we handle our problems and put more lines on our hands and across our faces, but, in the end, they’re simply new pathways to love … To those we love here on earth as well as to our Creator … Just a thought from a guy that is very very proud of both his now gray goatee and his very beautiful wife !!!
