First, credit where credit is due … Underlying premise for this was brought up as a theory by my brilliant Disciple 1 teacher two decades ago … I’m bringing this up straight off the bat for 2 reasons … (1) … Regardless of your station in Christian Ed, you can ALWAYS benefit from communion with others and (2) … DISCIPLE CLASSES ROCK .. Just sayin 🙂 … In the immortal words of Ed Sullivan, we’ve got a “Really Big Shooo”
A baby born in a manger to a teenage mother and a carpenter father will go on to be talked about and known throughout history and on all corners of the earth … Lowly shepherds in a field will triumphantly ring in the newborn king’s birth … The ultimate sign of hate and fear (the cross) will become the sign of hope and love throughout the world … God can, simply turn the world upside down … Not with fear, not with threats … But with Love ….
God’s gift of free will to all of us created the beautiful chaos that was, is, and will be life on this planet until He returns … What we discussed in Disciple class, and what’s truly strengthened up my personal relationship with Christ is simply that He “uses” (in the best way possible!) willing Christians to do His will on earth to achieve His ultimate will … An example …. While, yes, he COULD simply make a plate of food appear in front of a hungry person or a sandwich appear on the side of the road, instead He’ll tug at the heart of a nearby willing Christian who will then SEE that person in need … His will is done on earth as it is in Heaven …
The same mustard seed of faith that can move a mountain starts with a single sandwich … One good deed turns into two … into ten … His Son came down to save the World … It’s as simple as that … It’s just us that tries to complicate things ….
