alrighty then … ya know, there’s some things that we do several times a day (at least we’re supposed to!) like wash our hands and brush our teeth … then there’s things that we do daily … like get dressed and wash our face … then there’s things that we do a little less frequently … depending on how fast your hair grows on parts where you don’t want it to, there’s shavin’, there’s showerin’ (which depending on the water situation and what you do for a living that may be anywhere from multiple times a day to a couple times a week) and then there’s hair cuts, which, at my age, are beginning to be a less and less frequent occurrence … at this point you may be trying to figure out the best way to contact my beloved to see if i’m in need of a stroke test, but, trust me, there’s a method to this madness, ‘cause, you see, as i was givin’ myself one of my rare haircuts today i realized that some of this stuff is a LOT like our, well at least my, repentance journey … you see, when i was younger and doing “2 a day practices” let’s just say that me and the showers were best friends … there was a time in my life where i was not allowed, literally, to come into the house without first taking my shoes off and washing my feet because, well, i’ll let you figure that one out, but, as i grew and my need to clean myself so often died down, that didn’t mean it stopped, i still get ripe if i don’t tend to basic needs, but, it may not be as evident … just as with my hair … just because i don’t grow hair down to my back in a month doesn’t mean it doesn’t need tended to so quick … so back to the repentance … most denominations have some sort of corporate prayer of forgiveness that is used during the service … this is like a blanket “we’re sorry” … but, personally, knowing what MY SAVIOR knowingly did for ME means that just as i need to regularly need to check and make sure i’m clean on the outside, it’s a good job to make sure i stay clean on the inside … not for anyone else except HIM … just a thought from a guy that is now allowed to bring his shoes in the house …

Questions
sorry for the heavy one today, but, the Spirit led me here … have you ever thought about repentance as part of a daily or weekly “cleansing” ???
