Easter TIME

do any of y’all get (or got, in the past) a similar gift each year from someone … so much so that you could set your watch (pun intended, you’ll see in a minute, ha! i’m full of ‘em!) by them ??? well … in our house, for years that always was watches and Easter baskets … i’m sure it had nothing to do with the fact that my little brother and i were … umm … rambunctious … and Easter in West Virginia fell AFTER our first chance to be outdoors in months so chances were we were in need a same said watch, but, even after baskets quit showing up, watches didn’t, like i said, i could set my “new” watch by it … looking back, even if we may not have known it then, those watches were really meaningful in ways that only an ole coot is just now starting to realize … they may track time one second after another but it took me years after receiving what would be the last one that would be given to me by my parents before i realized it wasn’t every second that counted, but only the ones that they took the TIME to MAKE SPECIAL that truly mattered in all of those those thousands and millions of seconds … we are all given a precious gift of time with our loved ones throughout the decades of our lives, but, it’s how we recognize (or squander) those gifts that mean everything …. maybe 2 is too young for a watch in a basket, but, it’s definitely NOT too young for us to put it in as a reminder to US not to squander these precious times we have … just sayin’ …

Bible Verses

Psalm 118:15-29 / Luke 11:9-13
