this past week in Sunday School we were taking turns sharing stories about water (the lesson was ultimately on Baptism, but, this was to get us into it) but, the Spirit got me thinkin’ about today’s post … you see, here we were all tellin’ stories and that got me thinkin’ about how sometimes my beloved will joke that her and I can live through the exact same thing and come out with two similar but different versions of the same events … that would be ‘cause she’s lookin at it through HER perspective while I’m lookin’ at it through mine … which is right ??? well, HERS of course (i’m no fool!) 🙂 … all kidding aside, NEITHER is right and NEITHER is wrong, they’re just different ‘cause they’re from different point’s of view, and, guess what, if you hear from BOTH of us on the same topic, I’ll bet you’ll get an even better idea about what really happened !!! hmmmmm that reminds me of four guys that wrote some REALLY important books a while back … anyone wanna take a guess 🙂 … in a nutshell, we’ve got a tax collector that gave up everything to follow Jesus that’s writing mainly to the Jewish folks and the Jewish folks that were converting to Christianity, you had another follower of Jesus that was writing to everyone wanting to make absolutely sure that they knew that Jesus was fully devine, and you had a friend of Peter and Paul that was writing to the Romans and other Gentiles and finally another friend of Paul’s that was a physician who was writing to the Greeks and other Gentiles in that part of the world … Once they put all of the books together a few hundred years later and we get the benefit of reading all of them, we can read them side by side and get a full picture, but, now you can see how perspectives may make one author focus more on one aspect more than another … I know that I usually only have 1 or 2 bible readings, but, today I’ve got 4 … the same miracle told from all four perspectives … please take time to read the similarities AND differences to get the full picture 🙂 … just a thought from a guy lucky enough to have a wife that’s ALWAYS putting me into perspective !!! …. (ps, the field in the picture is of the feeding of the 5,000 in the Holy Land)
