i’d like to introduce you to izzy … he’s a (now not so little!) buddy of ours that my beloved found and rescued from under a portable classroom back in 2021 where he and 2 of his littermates were hidin out from a hawk that was looking for dinner while their momma was nowhere to be found ☹ … well, izzy joined our family (you see, we don’t buy or adopt pets, they just seem to find us!) that day and has been makin’ himself king o’ the castle ever since … until, that is, willie showed up … you see this (now not so little!) guy was hiding out behind one of my saws one day when i went to do some woodworking … he had an eye that wouldn’t open and we guess that was enough for his momma to kick him out of the litter and he figured our garage was as good a place as any to find a new momma … since he had one eye and figured i looked like sloth, we called him one eyed willie, or willie for short … after getting him cleaned up the vet told us that we’d have an issue since we already had an adult male in our house and, at best, we’d end up with two cats that didn’t get along and at worst, we’d end up with cat fights all the time … well, we went along with our motto of God protecting fools and little children and since we were no longer little children, well …… so, fast forward two years and guess what … we’ve got abbot and costello, martin and sinatra, bo and luke, ben and jerry, the bandit and snowman, well, you get the picture, izzy showed willie the ropes, warned him about the mean bird and has even helped him to stay out of the newest male in the house’s way (for some reason, they do scatter when a toddler comes a runnin, i wonder why :-P) … watching them reminds me of our bible verse today … we can either focus on what brings us together or what keeps us apart … personally, i choose the former … just a thought from a guy that’s got two happy tomcats and a parrot instead of a partridge … now i just need to get a pear tree, but, pretty sure the hoa would have a fit 😀 …
