239 Bean Chili Secret Ingredient

alrighty then … gonna warn you right up front that this one has a controversial take in it and I’ll get it out of the way up front in case you want to turn away …. this post talks about chili that has, gulp, beans … but, I promise, it’s ok, my sister-in-law lives in Texas, so, I like the non-bean kind too, but, this particular batch is my “irish 239 bean chili” (you put one more bean in it, it becomes too farty!) … ok, nuff with the dad jokes and on with the askapop … you see, when doin’ my grocery list today I noticed our supermarket put a couple of the items necessary for the chili on sale, so, I made a post ‘bout it on the book of face and decided that we hadn’t made it in awhile and added not only those items to the list, but, the rest of the ingredients as well (if you want the recipe, let me know and I’ll be happy to share) and then went out on my merry way … but, you see, the ingredient that makes this chili stand out above anything you can buy in any restaurant is something that they just can’t buy … it’s the love that goes into it … so, having said that, I can safely say that this’ll be the best batch yet ‘cause it’s the first batch that lil’bit has helped me make 😊 … in this digital age where there’s a thousand ways to educate and stimulate toddlers 24×7 it’s so important to engage them in meaningful traditions, tasks, and activities that they’ll be able to one day look back on and say “I remember when …… “ … the trick is, it’s like witnessing, we’re never sure WHICH activities will be the ones they are going to look back on decades from now so we need to make sure to have more of them with stuff like “Pappeye cooking chili with me” or “mamma singing the ABC’s” or “mimi singing Bible songs” or “daddy making me laugh” instead of “{insert tv character here} doing something on the screen” … now, don’t get me wrong, lil’bit ABSOLUTELY love’s his “Ms. Apple” and there’s no knocking it, but, we do want to build real memories with him … just a thought from a guy who can’t wait to taste the first batch of chili made with his grandson helping out 😊 …
