shortly after startin’ with the company i still work with they sent me to a class on time management … now, bein’ the smarty-pants that i was even then, when they talked about “creating time” i kinda laughed and mentioned flux capacitors and warp drives and got nasty looks until they got their point across that i should take this seriously, so, i did and have been using a task list ever since … back then it was in a binder, then it moved over to outlook and, for work, that’s where it’s stayed, but, now that i’m an “NPW” for that company, that means i have TWO outlook task lists to manage, one for them and one for the company that gives me checks, then i have to personal task list (we use google at home) … we have one for the family, i have one, toni and i share a separate one, and then there’s lots….. well, you get my meaning … there’s a LOT of lists, and don’t even get me started on the shared notes areas we have … geez … and i thought this tech was supposed to make things easier !!!! … now, on to the reason for the rambling … with all of these lists and all of the notes, that leaves for a lot of “to-do’s” left … well, to – do … and, that can get overwhelming … so much so that sometimes it’s just that, but, recently i was praying as i was looking at my big red list when the Spirit reminded me that each and every thing on that list meant something positive and, if i took a moment to give thanks for that positive, it could settle me … of course the Spirit was right (when is it not !!!!) … this time, instead of waitin’ for me to come to Him, He, in that still small voice, reminded me that i was weak and weary and gave me the advice of how to make me not so much … did this change how many things that were on my to-do list ?? nope, not any more than that time management class allowed me to add a single minute to the day, but, it absolutely DID allow me to look at each and every item on that list with a new found respect and, dare i say, vigor … just a thought from a guy that may still have a lot to do, but, instead of counting his tasks, is now counting his blessings 😊 …
