ok .. ok … ok … i know, the turkey ain’t even carved and here i am breakin’ out the Christmas stories, but, there’s a reason for the season (ha!, see what i did there !!!) first and foremost, i love to tell the story almost as much as i love hearin’ it, so, there’s that … but, in addition to that, this year, i’d like to tell y’all a different story, well, one sort of about it … well .. anyhoo, stick with me and you’ll see … you see, we have a nativity set that we’ve had for a couple of decades … it was one of the first Christmas decorations we bought together for the house and it’s made out of foam, so, it’s gettin’ a little long in the tooth … every few years Mrs. Claus tells me it’s time to get a new one and i’ll break out the hot glue and duct tape and manage to make it last a few more seasons … and, regardless of what folks think, it’s not ‘cause i’m cheap, but sentimental … you see, these three have seen us go from 2 to 3 and then from 3 to 5 and everything in-between … last year when we went to pull Mary out we noticed that a hand went missing … so we decided it was going to be the “long goodbye” last year, but, i didn’t have the heart to put them to the curb, so, back up to storage they went and this year our beloved Daughter decided to not only fix Mary’s hand but also a makeover for all three that will hopefully take them into the their families future long after we’re in the picture 😊 … the Holidays are about family, friends, and traditions and this year our three little ones will once again bear witness to all three for everyone in our neighborhood to see as a reminder of a brave young woman a couple thousand years ago that was very scared but also very blessed ….
