Christian Battery Gauge

ok … there’s the two things that leave in my pocket with me (along with my phone, which i needed to take the picture) each time i scadoodle out the door … one of them gets me back in same said door and the other holds my tuit’s that i give out to, well, anyone i can give’em to … and, when i get back home, i go to my awesome cup that big’lil’bit made me for father’s day years ago and grab another stack to be ready for the next outing … when the stack gets low, i start planning on taking time to make more tuit’s and, when my supplies start running low, i order more so i never run out … you could say that my cup is kinda like a “fuel gauge” for my tuit’s … don’t you wish that sometimes you had one of those for your faith ??? working with teenagers, i see it all the time, life gets so busy that all of a sudden things get pushed to the side so much and so often that the gauge gets awfully close to zero before something shocking brings things into perspective … honestly, it’s one of the reasons why this ministry got started, think of it as a “trickle charge” for those who need it when they can’t make it in to a service … a way to remind them that God IS good, all the time and all the time God IS good … i’ve been using the “charging” analogy here because, well, my pappeye used to use it … he taught auto-mechanics for 30 years and he said that church was like an “alternator for your Christian battery” … he’d say that you’d need to come in and charge it up every now and again or else you’d lose your charge … i’m no expert on auto-mechanics but i do know that the more you USE your car the more it charges it’s battery, so, rather than let it sit idle, i recommend that you charge your Christian battery as often as you can by attending service, praying, studying, watching goofy guys in hats talking about his lil’bit, whatever it takes, just, please, don’t sit idle …. That’s my $.02 ….
