my dad used to say he was as busy as a one legged man in a butt kickin’ contest … now what was funny ‘bout that was … well, he only had one leg … but, he’d say that whenever things got a bit busy for him … there’s other idioms for it … with the two that are most popular nowadays seeming to be my “calandar’s full” or “too many iron’s in the fire” … but, they all mean the same thing … there’s 8 gallons of water and a 5 gallon jug … now, while most would look at this as a problem (and, don’t get me wrong, the math definitely ain’t mathin’ out there!) there IS a good side to it if we do what our Savior is always goin’ on about … stop and PRAY … give THANKS … you see … for a LOT of those irons, they’re also BLESSINGS … so, instead of “i have to feed the cats” it can be “i get to feed the cats” … instead of “the weekend is shot, the garage is a mess!” it’s “we’re so lucky to have a roof over our heads AND so much extra stuff that we can find new homes for” … now, i’m not saying that it’ll lighten up the load or make the number of irons in your fire any less, but, it may turn those irons in the fire into blessings in your heart, and, last time i checked, i don’t know of too many people that have too many blessings in their lives … just sayin’ …. now, if you’ll forgive me, i’ve got a few more blessings i have to tend to before this day is done !!!
