Keep Sakes Not Forsaken

Chef-boy-r-Cecil here … i was whippin up a culinary masterpiece … yeah … right … y’all know better … but, i was cookin’ when i happened across lookin’ at my left hand (it happens, you know) … and saw my weddin’ ring … been there comin’ up on half my life and, well, it’s PART of me … more importantly, what it represents … the family that we created way back when and that grows stronger each and every day … as all of that flowed through me and gave me chills like it always does (and amazes me that Toni still ain’t come to her senses!) the Spirit brought this ssa to me … so, after the masterpiece was left to simmer, a few more pics were taken …. one of the new chain that i now wear that housed the aforementioned ring when i was in the hospital and too sick to wear it on my finger and refused to let it be away from me … a wall clock my dad made lovingly for me as a housewarming present with the clockwork itself placed where i was born in the state where i was born, and finally in our “shelves of remembrance” with some of our special items such as the family bible, dvd’s of our wedding, unity candle and lots of other great stuff … now why am i rambling on about this ??? do i need this stuff to remember Toni or dad or our marriage ???? no more than God knew that we needed the rocks in the river to remember the crossing of the Jordan or scripture nailed to the doorposts to remember the exodus, or the rainbow in the sky, but, just as i get a warm “hug” and chill down my spine just from seeing my clock or chain or ring, God knows that we get the same (even more!) from the rainbow or the scripture or the rocks or any of the other traditions that we’re lucky enough to have picked up in our worship services along the way … just a though from the luckiest guy in the world that is getting ready to introduce his grandson to cheeseburger macaroni for the first time 😊 … may God bless you and all of your traditions !!!!

Bible Verses
