ok … today we packed up the family roadster(s) and headed on a very familiar trek of land on a vacation trail to visit beloved family and have some much needed r&r … it’s a trip that’s a couple years in the making due to life and, this time around was the first time that lil’bit will be making the trip with us, which leads me to the reason for this message … you see, the first time that i saw these states pass by on my way to a vacation extravaganza i was barely in double digits of age, disco was still playing on the radio, epcot wasn’t open, and we had no idea that luke and leia were brother and sister !!! now, since then i’ve seen those familiar signs (and what comes next!) several times as a kid, then as an adult, a husband, father, and now, pappeye … each time, while familiar, is new, exciting, and different because of the new place in my life … kinda like when i pick up the BIBLE … each time i go back to a story ‘cause He pointed me there it may be familiar, but, i’ll get something new and different each time because i’m in a different place in my life when i read it … the Bible is a two way communication between us and God that allows Him to show us the Way through prayerful mediation and study, not a “one and done” book to be put down after it’s been read cover to cover … just an observation from a guy that’s about to enjoy more wonders and sights through the eyes of a toddler !!!
