Choices … or … filling the Gaps

now, you may want to just pray for Toni straight outta the gate on this one ‘cause it’s a glimpse into mr cecil’s mind 😛 …. while givin’ lil’bit his apple butter toast towards the end of breakfast (yes, i’ve learned that we don’t give that at the BEGINNING of breakfast unless we get an amped up toddler on apple butter that wants nothin’ to do with his eggs n hashbrowns!) it got me thinkin’ about an ssa on choices, but, then i got to lookin’ at the 4 types of apples we had literally at the ready in the kitchen which OBVIOUSLY reminded me of our gospels (duh!) so … voila 😀 … all kiddin’ aside, I know that a lot of scholars (I learned this in disciple class 😊 ) talk about how the 4 gospels were written for specific audiences (Mark=roman gentiles, Matthew=jews, Luke=Greek gentiles, John=gnostics) and, don’t get me wrong, that makes sense, but, just like where 4 friends get together to tell a story of the same events, there’s overlap and a FULLER PICTURE from DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVES comes into play, and, at least from this ole guy, i think that that’s what God’s plan was when He was guiding the folks at Nicaea … now, do i want an apple, some apple sauce, or maybe some apple butter on toast ????

Bible Verses

Matthew 3:1-12 / Mark 1:2-8 / Luke 3:1-20 / John 1:19-28

Questions

When you’re reading the scriptures, do you flip between the Gospels to get a full picture of what’s going on ???
