lil’bit’s at that stage of toddlerdom where anything that he thinks that we think is valuable is left within his grasp, it’s gone and turns into a game … he’ll take off runnin’ and gigglin’ and it’s our job to go after him …. why is this an ssa, well today, “experience is what you get right after you need it” was a lesson that my favorite lil’buddy found out, cause he saw a real important lookin’ object hangin out within reach on the table and thought “welp, pappeye made an oopsie and he’s gonna pay!” … he snatched it and started giggling all the way into his room … now, for those of you that don’t recognize what this is, it’s a baby monitor, the receiving end, and, when within a foot or two of the business end AND a giggling toddler, well, lets just say that a still running, now wide eyed toddler was running back to his pappeye with the same said device in his hot little hand and wanting to give it back to me as fast as possible … as i’d said, this definitely reminded me of the saying i used to have on my email tags before changing it to what i have now, but, it also reminded me of the guidance and “guardrails” that our Father put in place to help us paint within the lines and avoid MOST of the pitfalls … if only we would follow all of them not only to “the letter” but also in the “spirit” that they were written, so many of the lessons that we end up learning the hard way wouldn’t be learned that way …. (by the way, the pic of me in the yellow vest was about 2 mins before a bike wreck where i broke bones in both hands and was the LAST time that i will ever ride a bike without a helmet) … oh … and if anyone’s curious, my new personal email tag is the askapop motto 😊 …
