ok … definitely wasn’t on my bingo card, but, here we are … i had alexa give me the ole’ ringie dingie just now and inform me of someone at the door … it was my lawn guy and he was very apologetic … you see, he was trimming the hedges around our ac unit (we’d asked him to) and accidently played pulled an “ilsa” and “let it go” with the freon copper tube … definitely a mistake and, given it’s almost summer in florida, definitely the wrong time of year … this guy’s awesome and has been with me for years and i had a few choices … i’ll let you have some time to gather your thoughts on what you’d do (feel free to let me have it in the comments if you disagree with my choice) but, you know what, last i checked, no one’s perfect and when i looked things up in the dictionary, they weren’t called “purposes,” they were called “accidents” so, as much as it hurt my wallet to say it, that’s exactly what i told him, ‘cause, if it’d have been a sprinkler head, i’d have said the same thing … mistakes shouldn’t come with a price tag … i remember years ago one of my neighbors (you know who you are) forgave my son for an accident he’d done when he could have just as easily raked him over the coals and made us pay for it, but, “love thy neighbor” isn’t, or, shouldn’t just be just lip service, and, today, it was my chance to remind myself (and hopefully a few others via this ssa) that it’s not what we gain but what we give that measures the worth of the life we live (and i’m sure glad that someone was able to get me out of that shark way back when !!!!) ….
