have you ever heard of the term “edc” … in this analogy, it stands for “every day carry” and refers to things that folks carry with them, well … every day … this got me thinking of my every day carries … there’s the “no brainers” … my wedding ring and, since the medical scare, the necklace that carried it that now reminds me of just how close i came to leaving my family behind, then, when leaving the house, there’s keys and tuits, and then there’s my “murse” (Jess really hates that!) along with the “cool lid o the day” and my, emmmm, glasses ☹ …. as well as my water bottle, oh, and how can we not count my phone and bluetooth that drives Toni crazy?!? … but, that’s just the “stuff” that we have on the outside, it’s the INSIDE everyday carry’s is what’s really important, that phone contains, literally thousands of pictures and memories as well as my bible, both audio and olive tree study bible, but, in my heart, i’m carrying around even more memories of the folks that have made me who i am …. Craig, who could always keep me laughing, Pappeye, who taught me how to love the Lord and bring people to Him, Papa, who could bring a smile out of anyone and never met a stranger, and dad, who would freely give his time and energy for anyone that needed it and would always help anyone with anything … if y’all know me, you know that those traits i just listed are the traits i strive to live for and, well, now you know where they came from … my secret is the men that came before me continue to help make me the man i am today … so, before you leave the house today, think about what’s in your “everyday carry” … or, more importantly, who’s behind your everyday carry ??? if they’re still around, how’s about giving them a call or text, if not, say a little prayer for them 😊 … now, carry on (see what i did there :-P) ….
