Take Notes … and Remember Them !!!

Ya know, when I was a whippersnapper in school (back when we walked 7 miles in 10 feet of snow, uphill, both ways!), one of the classes they had through the 7th or 8th grade was “spelling.” ’Cause they told us we “wouldn’t always have a dictionary handy.” HA!!!! They also told us we had to learn how to do a bunch of math in our heads ’cause “we wouldn’t be walking around with calculators in our pockets.”

Ummmmmmm…..

Anyhoo… I digress (and spellcheck didn’t even give me a squiggly line on that — cool!). But no one really knows what tomorrow’s gonna bring, so they prepared us as best they could. Teaching us with the best tools they had at hand. And I’m so glad they did, ’cause those lessons still translate. Today’s tools just make it easier for a nit-wit like me to survive.

OneNote is awesome for keeping all my thoughts in… well… one place. With the Keep app, our entire family shares the important stuff — like the list of things we plan on buying to go down our pie-holes. And for the fancy writing there’s an app for that too, giving me squiggly lines every time I type a “cecilism” (there’s one right there!) or get creative with a word and have to ask Alexa how to get close enough for spellcheck to figure out what I’m tryin’ to say.

All these ways for a guy to write things down. What’s more important is… do I find it when I need it? And once I find it, do I remember it?

That’s the beauty of the new tools. It’s way easier than it used to be. Heck, there were scrolls hidden for thousands of years because priests had to hide them on the sly — only found because of a kid and a rock.

But God, on the other hand (ha, see what I did there!), made sure Moses knew exactly where to look. He wrote it Himself. And from that time forward He has been placing His words clearly for all of us to see, hear, and know… and, if we’ll let Him, to write them on our hearts so we don’t just take the notes — we remember them.

Just a thought from a guy who may not spell things right, but remembers where to find the notes on the Guy who always points him in the right direction.

Questions

How do you take notes ??? Are you able to remember what’s truly important ???
